In FF8 PC 2013, saves are located in
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VIII Steam\user_*, you can edit
*.ff8 files with Hyne 1.8 and the
metadata.xml file will be automatically updated.
Hyne can also open slots, like the standard FF8 PC version. If you have several versions of FF8 installed, you can choose your version in “Settings -> PC Version”.
You can update manually the
metadata.xml file in the “File -> Sign saves for the Cloud…” menu. (Since Hyne 1.8.2)
In FF8 Remaster PC edition, saves are located in:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered\Steam\(numbers)\game_data\user\saves
File save format is :
slot1_save03.ff8… As a result, you can export from Hyne using these names.
slot1_save01.ff8because it’s AUTOSAVE slot.
